Founded in 1946, the company focused its business activities on six principle product sectors that is; water pumps, water treatment, swimming pools, solar products, borehole equipment and generators.
D&S Nakuru Branch have installed the largest solar borehole pumping unit. It involved installation of four inverter controlled Grundfos pumps, two of 26kW and two of 11kW in a well field to supply Lodwar town with over 1000m3 of water per day to supplement the town water supply as well as providing some surplus for irrigation.
The 2014 National Water Summit was a high profile event held beside Lake Turkana in Turkana County and opened by former president HE Mwai Kibaki. It was attended by approximately 300 senior officials from government, County administration, NGOs and the private sector, D&S being represented by Dep. CEO David Gatende.

D&S Eldoret Branch for many years now, has been offering Water & Energy solutions to North-Western part of Kenya. The branch is run by 10 No. energetic staff and they have received very high service ratings from their customers in that region. They recently installed a Lorentz Pump at Gospel Believers Children Centre (Kitale).The pump now supplies clean water for all uses within the Centre. This has significantly reduced the cases of illness (hygiene related) among the children.
